Nozzle keeps clogging, hotend maybe ruined

We haven't been able to print a single thing yet. We have problems with the nozzle clogging.

I bought nozzle replacements from PrintedSolid.com but the original nozzle was jammed in so bad and stuck with gooey filament. In trying to get it out, the new nozzle won't reasonably screw into the original heatblock. I don't want to force it and the blue wires that go into it are unsheathed near the top where I'd worry the wires could short circuit.

So, I'm considering buying a replacement hotend assembly but I don't see them on PrintedSolid.com nor on Prusa3d.com's spare parts for an MK4s.

Any pointers or guidance would be welcome.

Thanks!

David

One more addition to the last : If you can't assemble a hotend from parts from PrintedSolid, you're out of luck and you'd better throw away the printer.

Is this a pre-assembled printer or built from a kit?

If it is new your first resource is Prusa Support via chat, you will need to have your printer's serial number ready on first contact.

Chat is at bottom right of most pages on https://www.prusa3d.com/

Which filament(s) are you using?

This is very unusual for a nextruder assembly, did you follow: https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/how-to-replace-the-prusa-nozzle-mk4s-mk3-9s_734750

?

Cheerio,

Kit

Thanks. I forget chat is an option. I appreciate the reminder and to have the SN ready.

Which filament(s) are you using?

Some PLA that was sent with the original kit, in galaxy red.

Yes. This is my teenager's printer. I mostly just let him work on it on his own until he gets frustrated or blocked and he did the initial assembly. I didn't need to help with this step, but I know he did it.

Thanks,

David

Are you blind or what?

No, but I do wear glasses for far vision.

Or are you just lazy to search and wait for someone to do it for you?

I did search but wasn't successful and since I'm brand new to this and don't know what I don't know, I figured I'd be best checking with the community before I spent lots of extra parts that maybe I didn't need.

Complete hotend at Prusa:

https://www.prusa3d.com/en/product/nextruder-hotend-brass-0-40-mm/

All the necessary parts to build a hotend about PtintedSolid:

https://www.printedsolid.com/collections/original-prusa-spare-parts/products/original-prusa-hotend-heater-xl-mk4

https://www.printedsolid.com/collections/original-prusa-spare-parts/products/original-prusa-hotend-thermistor-xl-mk4

https://www.printedsolid.com/collections/original-prusa-spare-parts/products/original-prusa-nextruder-heater-block-xl-mk4

https://www.printedsolid.com/collections/original-prusa-spare-parts/products/original-prusa-0-4mm-nozzle-xl-mk4

Thank you for this. I will retry a manual search to see what I missed. Now that I know what I'm looking for, I can debug what I was doing wrong.

Thanks,

David

To me this sounds like a combination of some sort of fan error and a wrongly inserted hot-end, maybe an overtightened grub screw - but this is little more than a guess.

Contact support via chat and they will take you through a diagnostic routine.
