New Assembled Mk4S with existing MMU3 from Mk3S+ can they be made to get along?

I bought a new Mk4S printer because my Mk3s+ has a lot of wear and tear from being a learning / project printer for my teenage sons and has undergone some inexpert dis- / re-assembly cycles. We had in the last year or so replaced the tempermental MMU2 with an MMU3. I figured the change had been recent enough that it would go onto the new Mk4 as opposed to a Core1.  That is not the case.

What do I need to get to carry it over? My son was thinking that some of the parts needed are no longer available for sale. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jason

2x M3 socket head screws for idler swivel i think 20mm
2 x M3 nylock nuts
2 x Custom M3 Screws 35mm long with unthreaded section 30mm long, I think you can trim a 50mm screw to fit.
I can't find them in the spares list
you can print most of the plastic parts   i think the main plate and idler nut are special materials, better bought...

If you already have the MMU3 you only need a new Power and Data cable for the Mk4 controller connection

If you don't yet have the MMU3,

Thank you so much. We were concerned that there were more parts required to be added to the Nextruder and so on.

Thanks,

Wow, I can't believe how hard it is to find those last 2 screws. They are just captive panel screws, but they are longer than what is commercially available. It is really weird.

Thank you for you help.

If you are talking about the nextruder tension screws, they are custom screws

I bought long screws and cut the excess thread off leaving only 5mm thread.
the un-threaded section slides through the nextruder frame, better than fully threaded screws, making operation smoother.
I think the screws were originally 50mm  long before I cut them down.

It just goes through the frame? it doesn't serve as a bearing or sliding surface for another component along the smooth part of the shank?  In that case I can just use partially threaded screws. I worry more about fouling up the leading thread when I cut the extra length off than I do about feeding a fussy screw through a tight passage.

Thanks,

Jason

Put a nut on the screw before cutting, trim the cut surface, then unscrew the nut, and you should have good thread
