MK4S Blob-of-Death removed. Extruder OK?

Today I tried to print from a new roll of Prusament PLA.  For some reason the filament did not stick to the print bed (and it left behind a dusty residue...?) and by the time I noticed there was a large blob surrounding the extruder.    I removed it by manually heating the extruder to approx 220C, and working the blob loose gradually, but I'm not sure if the process distorted/misaligned the extruder head.  I can see/feel that the fan cowling is broken.

The below pic of the extruder assembly is taken from the print bed directly below the extruder.

Could somebody comment if the extruder assembly seems aligned as it should be, and if not what do you see wrong with it?   Or, if it is mis-aligned, will it still work OK?  Maybe it doesn't matter that it's mis-aligned?  And, is the extruder missing any parts?  I fear the blob of PLA might have captured something that got pulled off when the blob was removed.

(Also, is it possible to buy a replacement fan cowling part?)

(Also, why would a roll of filament refuse to stick to a newly cleaned print-bed, and leave grey dust all over the print-bed during a failed print?)

Many thanks!

the extruder / heatblock seems to have rotated 45 degrees. the block should face front to back, with the heater capsule towards the back

Thanks Joan,  I'll tinker it back into place.

Putting the heating block in place is fun. It's worse with a damaged cooling channel, which has to be replaced with a new one.
