Layer shift issues with 6.5.3

Yesterday, loading the forum was impossible for some reason.  I think there were some technical issues.  Here is more or less a mirror of my Reddit post.

Since upgrading to firmware 6.5.3 with the corresponding MMU3 hex, I’ve been experiencing severe layer shifting on MMU prints—single‑filament prints remain unaffected. This model alone has failed 6 times, with layer shifts occurring at varying Z heights.

From a hardware standpoint, I’ve verified belt tensions, nozzle tightness, and the entire Nextruder assembly. I’ve also tried re-slicing, repositioning the model on the build plate, reducing print speeds (75%, 60%, and 50%), and even clamping down the control board using an old Creality mindset. Most shifts initially occurred along the Y axis, leading me to suspect plate movement. However, the final failure showed displacement along both X and Y axes (see second photo).

Posting this for awareness and also to see if others are encountering similar behavior. Is anyone else seeing this, or am I an outlier?

After downgrading to firmware 6.4.0—which has presented its own irritating issues to me—the print finally completed successfully without incident and subsequently two more MMU3 versions (not pictured) for Easter gifts.
