Hot end settings cool down/heat up...
This doesn't affect my prints, but it seems really slow and odd. When start a print job, it first cools down to 175, then it levels itself, then it heats back up to 215 or whatever. I don't understand why it has to cool down first when it was at the correct temp loading the filament moments ago. I'm not sure how to change settings to support a more efficient process.

Basic physics, things expand when hot. If the levelling is calibrated at a specific temperature, levelling at a different temperature will give an inaccurate reading
