Heat bed not up to temp

Filament suddenly stopped adhering. Tried different filaments, pla & PETG. The lcd said the bed was at 60C, but it was just warm to the touch. Should have been HOT!

The thermister seems to work.  Responds to heating with a hair dryer & shows the bed temp rising when prints start.  And yes, it’s firmly attached to the heat bed.  But the bed is nowhere near what the display shows

I tried tuning a print from 60 C to 88C and adhesion improved.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

thanks!

The bare heatbed is losing heat to the air, the temperature underneath a layer of extrusion will be higher.  For poor adhesion the number one criterion is a truly clean print sheet.  Narrow footprint adhesion can be improved with a higher bed temperature with the trade-off that elephant's foot will increase.

Cheerio,

Thanks for your reply, Diem, but I don’t think that’s the problem. It’s worked fine for a long time until this suddenly started happening.
