0.4MM Nozzle - 0.3MM Layer Height Gone?!
I just recently updated the Prusa Slicer Software to 2.9.0.
Did they really remove the 0.30MM Layer Height with a standard 0.4MM Nozzle? I must be missing something here. I can't see why on earth they would do such a thing.
Also, input shaper sucks! Where did the options for no Input shaper go? My prints were so much cleaner without input shaper.
I'm currently very very disappointed that I bought a new MK4S and upgraded my MK4 to the MK4S after finding this out.
Anyone have any input?
RE: 0.4MM Nozzle - 0.3MM Layer Height Gone?!
You can still set a .3mm height. Just have to change it and then save that as a new profile. I can only guess why it was removed. I assume it was because of the increase in speed made available from the input shaper, the savings of print time of using .3mm height without input shaper have been erased. Hopefully someone smarter than me can confirm or add to it.
As to your print quality, you can also slow your print speed down to what you find acceptable.
Every setting is a compromise to your output; speed, quality, durability. The beauty is you get to prioritize what you want for each print.

RE: 0.4MM Nozzle - 0.3MM Layer Height Gone?!
I have printed at. 3mm height. I had to raise the nozzle temperature. Leave the first layer at. 2. I used the. 25mm profile and just changed the layer height in the settings. It works just fine.
RE: 0.4MM Nozzle - 0.3MM Layer Height Gone?!
I don't even have the option for 0.25MM layer height. I'm not using the high flow nozzle. I print with PETG and PC Blend CF and I am running ObXidian nozzles.
I just placed an order for 0.4MM and 0.6MM ObXidian HF Nozzles and will give the 0.25MM and 0.28MM a run and see how they turn out.
I'm going to run some of the stuff I do daily at a few slower speeds and see if I can get them to match the old 0.30MM finish. With Prusament PETG, everything I printed was like glass without the input shaper. I had everything dialed in perfectly.
