Support material not sticking to the actual print

Loose supportsHi there,

im making a fairly simple, hollow box. I’ve printed it out a couple of times but not im finding the support material is starting to not stick to the bottom and sides of the print (note the print, not the print bed). It then causes all sorts of issues as the print goes on.
I’ve tried cleaning the nozzle throughouly as I did have a blockage the other day, but the problem persists. Goes ok for a bit, but then keeps failing when it hasn’t failed before.
I’ve tried slowing the print speed (down to 80 and then to 60) and upping the temp by 3 and then by 5 degrees.

it’s Prusa PLA I’m using. I’ll attach some picks. You can see I’m gently moving my finger across to show the loose supports.

RE:

In which orientation are you printing? Is it open on one side or a sealed cube?

If the former, position the entire bottom flat side on the plate so no supports are needed?

Can you upload a pic of the actual 3D model you are trying to print?

Hi,

it’s a hollow cube, but there is an opening, which is oriented at the top of the build on the side, so the bottom is a nice flat base.
here is another picture of the supports not laying down
