MK4S Homing Behavior with Firmware 6.1.3?
The homing behavior (G28 or via LCD "Auto Home") has changed a bit with various firmware versions, particularly as regards how many times the X and Y axis "bump" into their limits to determine the X=0 and Y=0 points. After upgrading to MK4S and firmware 6.1.3, I am seeing a new behavior and just wonder if it is typical.
I will describe what I am experiencing.
- For the first G28 or Auto-Home after power-on: The x-axis bumps 18 times on the left side, then the y-axis bumps 18 times at the rear.
- For all successive G28 or Auto-Home (until the next power-off), the x-axis bumps 2 times on the left side, then the y-axis bumps 2 times at the rear.
That behavior (18 bumps on first homing after power up, 2 bumps on all others) is consistent for me. Homing completes without error and proceeds to Z homing (2 taps on plate). Belt tension is good, X and Y move smoothly, and there are no obstructions. I even did a full "factory reset", went through all calibrations again, and still have the same behavior.
Is this "18 bumps" for first homing of X and Y typical with MK4s and firmware 6.1.3? What are others seeing?
