The 6.4.0 is unstable for many people. For me, i have unkown error at starting, a few reloading filament error, some xbuddy overvoltage detected with this firmware.
I downgraded to 6.2.6 and all work correctly now.

I'm a newbie to Prusa. I've had a little experience previously with another printer years ago.
I want to get the MK4S (kit) and build it myself. Quite mechanically inclined, but these software issues I struggle with.
Do you think the Mk4S is worth it? Is the community really helpful?

@john-n - Don't be fooled by forum bias. There are many hundreds of thousands of Prusa printers in use around the world by now, users generally only arrive here if they have a problem, at any one time we have a dozen or so people complaining, a vanishingly small proportion of the whole.
The majority of problems reported are related to keeping the printer clean and lubricated and the filament dry. Many of the rest are failed attempts to print downloaded files that are very badly designed for 3D printing - sometimes impossible AI fantasies. And yes, there are a few hardware problems but even a proportion of those are self inflicted by users who refuse to believe in a simple cause but immediately jump to arcane intricacies.
Do you think the Mk4S is worth it?
Only you can judge your own use-case. all I can say is that I have owned Prusa printers for nine years and have never regretted it.

No one here can give an unbiased answer — follow the forums for a few days on the topics you expect to be of interest and decide for yourself ... which I suppose is an unhelpful answer ...

Hey, thanks for the reply @diem. Surprised to learn that most issues are related to humidity of the filament and some basic preventative maintenance habits. That makes me feel better. I'm quite mechanically inclined, but the software issues that I've seen across all brands is what scares me. I am not that fast at the software. I think I'll go ahead and get the MK4S (kit) and give it a shot.
(hmm, still learning this "quote" methodology thing. 🙂 )
