" I guess I'm at a loss as to what benefit a thread of constant complaining will achieve. "

Trying to improve the situation because I think we all love our Prusa printers.

Prusa must react and improve, and it is not going to be with conformist customers who swallow with any problem, with silences, with “I sell you something” but “it is not in stock for about 4 months”. (here Prusa XL founders should have a monument to patience).

If we all keep quiet, what good does that do to improve things? If I find the situation outrageous, it is precisely because I see what is happening with PRUSA nowadays, and I would not like to see it disappear by continuing with the same mistakes of the past over and over again.

If There is OCTOPRINT in MK4  is cause lots of users,  claimed in prusa forums and Github.  At the start, they have not implemented the basic "gcodes" trying to get people use "prusa online services" ......

I have a few MK3S+, MK4S and XL.   Have thousands of hours of printing and have modified nothing, all stock parts.

Did I have to wait... yes.

Are the printers perfect.....no

We're there improvements that came over time.... Yes.

I accept that.  If that doesn't sit well with you then there are literally hundred of other options out there for 3D printers.

If you already placed an order and don't want to wait I'm sure you can cancel your order.

I guess I'm at a loss as to what benefit a thread of constant complaining will achieve.

Sorry if anyone finds this offensive, I just felt it needed to be said.

If you generally mean to inform and protect Prusa from their own ruin, you might consider sharing your suggestions directly with them, rather than complaining on this user forum that they neither monitor nor communicate over.

This is what I have done in the past, both via Ticket and Github.  (in 3 different problems).

----------------------
Github 3
----------------------
Problem:  False Hotend Readings in all my 3xMk3S+.  The video is hilarious.
The hotend temperature sensor, goes in less than 2 second from being 235 to 242 to 248 and back to 240. (False readings) . Same problem on 3 different printers with 3 different 104GT-2 sensors. (Original from Prusa,  Original from E3D and  TriangleLabs GT2)   (and also with new cable direct from the GT2 to the Mainboard not passing with the rest of the cables)

Also without solution.  But this one dont scares me...... Are false readings and the temperature seems to be stable  (Measured with a professional Thermal Camera).

When I said above that the technical service is not what it used to be, I said it with reason. Or maybe I have had the three problems mentioned above in my THREE Mk3S+ purchased more than 1 year apart each .......... I don't believe in coincidences, I believe in facts.

As an aside, to think that PRUSA does not control what is written on their forums, on THEIR server, is to err on the side of naivety.
In a Live Event,  one of the Tech Boys from Prusa  asked Joseph about the "octoprint" support that lot of users where asking in the forums.

My point is that the forums are not the appropriate way of engaging with Prusa, they are for engaging with other users.  There are more appropriate avenues, and as such, those other avenues should be used.  Continuing to grind your axe about your Prusa grievances in the forum suggests that what you really want is for fellow forum users to feel as strongly as you do on this topic, and you've seemed unhappy with the lack of enthusiasm of people to do so.  Your opinion matters though, even if nobody else shares it.  If Prusa is reading this thread, saying it 5 more times in slightly different ways isn't going to communicate anything more to them then when you said it the first time.

RE:

@Goyetus

You keep trying to make your unique problems to be some universal issue (like comparing them to Gcode support needed for Octoprint).  Apples and Oranges.  I won't dispute that YOU have had multiple issues, and you deserve resolution on those if they are indeed engineering or manufacturing defects, but you won't get that here and you cannot dispute that many others have had NONE of the issues you say are so critical.

Trying to disparage the entirety of Prusa and their support because YOU had specific problems is not fair, and you're only showing your narrow interpretations.  While I agree with certain aspects of your complaints (like inaccurate delivery dates and taking payments before shipment is imminent), blathering on and acting like you alone know what is going to "save or destroy" the Prusa company in the marketplace (as if you were the authority on business enterprises) is tiresome.  Tell us again, which multi-million-dollar company that you own and control which gives you such insights?

You have made your points, and Prusa (who owns this forum) has generously allowed you to make them without censorship.  Repeating them over and over is just tiresome and serves no useful purpose.  Please give it a rest.

I think that many users are not happy with the way prusa is acting in several areas, including shipping.

The problems suffered on my machines, are not exclusively mine, take a look at the Prusa GitHub and see how many people are posting on them.

Maybe this thread is not the best place to remind Prusa of the duties they have to attend to, but it is also not the place for other users to say “I choose Prusa because their level of customer service is superior”. I repeat that maybe years ago, it was like that. Today it is not the same.

Anyway, on the main topic of the thread, at least for Spain, they have changed the shipping dates again and still do not specify that users with the old screen, will not receive the new injected plastic nor the Backplate.  Nor a rebate for buying something that is not what you receive.

This thread should be nominated for something to be honest.

The amount of entitlement is honestly absurd and pathetic, and it has definitely moved the goalposts in regards of what is socially acceptable behavior online.
The relationship between you and Prusa ends at Customer.

Just because they can't say it.
I will.
Please switch to another brand of printers so you can bless another community with your non-problem.

ps.

I actually ordered my MK4S upgrade weeks ago.
It will most likely arrive late November.

Odd thing is that they were quite upfront with it beforehand, and it was my decision if I were willing to wait for the parts to arrive.

Weird how that works, eh?

I am not sure what your definition of upfront is. But saying orders will ship on one date. Then waiting till that date to tell everyone that they won't get their order for 4-12 weeks is not being upfront.

That is not true at all. Prusa as a company engages on these forums all the time. Even Josef himself has said he reads the forums to get feedback and the shipping is a major concern and problem for him if you watch some of his latest vlogs.

I'm happy to be wrong on this point, but I never claimed that they do not read the forums, but that they do not monitor them.  There is a difference.  Monitoring a site for feedback is far more active and intentional than occasionally scanning through to get general feedback.  It's a nuanced difference, but an important one when you are setting expectations.  For example, on their GitHub, where they officially ask us to provide feedback, they are actively monitoring suggestions.  I can be confident that thoughts posted there WILL be seen because it is monitored.  I do not have that expectation when I post here.  Josef can say that he reads the forums for feedback, but that doesn't imply he's scouring the forum at all times to make sure he doesn't miss anything.  I trust they have employees who do actively scour the GitHub page because they've communicated that it is intended (and as such, monitored) as the avenue by which to leave feedback for Prusa.

You said engage and that the forums are to engage with users not Prusa. Which is completely false statement. If this was a usergroup forum, sure. But it's not it's the company forum. It is not a user managed and moderated forum. And it is the perfect and appropriate place to engage with the company as seen by the hundreds of posts from company employees on here.

But no need to split hairs between the differences between monitored, no it's not the right place to post a specific issue you need help with because it's not the right way to engage with support because it's not monitored in that fashion as you do put.

However. As you suggest Github being the right place to engage. Where would one post feedback on Prusa's order taking and shipping policies there exactly? Just curious.

Your comment is pure gold.  I don't know what you are doing in this thread with contributions that have 0 value to the rest.

If it hurts you to read the truth, it's not my problem. you have more threads that don't hurt your sensibilities.

TRUE FACTS RIGHT NOW:
(Im reading people lying in previous post to this one)....

  • 1º - Prusa started selling the product with a 09/09 date.  Later they changed it for "14 weeks", and I they not warn you about it. You find out by chance almost 1 month later because you read about it on reddit or in “your order” inside prusa. Official communication = inexistent.
MK4S in stock  and MK4S kit in stock ALL the time.

  • 2º - Buyers with old LCD, are not going to get the new parts nor the backplate DESPITE PAYING THE SAME. You also find out from reddit or third parties. Official communication = Nonexistent.3rd - It seems they have “fixed” that finally the MK4 can print flexible filament. Something as simple as the lever was not doing enough pressure. There is video demonstrating it more than 1 year ago. They have made the update “SILENTLY” and many users who have not upgraded to MK4S, may not even know about this upgrade that will allow them to print flexible with much less problems.

Ok. I love PRUSA, but I HATE this way of proceeding.

I think communication is key here, and Prusa still do not seem to have nailed that.

This takes me back to the MK4 days, where I placed my order, they took my money, and shipping dates just kept getting pushed forward without any notice. Even a simple email message to those who have placed orders keeping them informed of slipped dates etc would be something, rather then keep people in the dark, especially when you are holding their money too.......

Its bad Prusa cant satisfy its customers with speed. I understand it but also understand discussed problems. Its a pity, because other more aggressive companies can destroy Prusa. They need to be more flexible. I personally was lucky to receive MK4s upgrade kit almost instantly. I would be also frustrated waiting for several weeks. I hope Prusa will sort this out. I know, that they are planning on raising printer production thanks to move filament production to other building. Cross fingers for Prusa, they are great company with great vision!

Agreed. Prusa has a chronic issue in this regard. This occurred with me on the MK4 , MMU3 and now the 4S upgrade ( old lcd ). Others can attest to the poor communication with the push back on release of the  Prusa XL , MMU2, etc.  Letting shipment dates slip for weeks and even months with no official updates is grossly unprofessional.

RE: 14 weeks for MK4 to MK4s feels like an insult to the people who put their trust in mk4. Mk4s in stock and Mk4s Kit in Stock.

Of course, it is not fair to watch the a delay on your order and to find that some promises goes to the trush.

Of course problems can appears and we as customers expect quick solutions that sometimes never comes.

But at last all is about freedom, you didn't like it, don't buy to them, they dissapoint you, don't buy to them, that have no inmediate stock, just don't buy.

Another companies gives you better products, better prices, services or whatever you want or consider, just buy things from them, complaining is not the answer.

And of course read other post from forums about this problems is not the answer too, forums are problems exposition, there are no post about "look how good my printer works", "My printer never fails", "I assembled my printer and prints came out perfect from the first time". no sir, most of the time, are requests for help, assistance or problems resolutions. So in forums you allways see problems and problems and more problems

Of course I'm not defending Prusa or any other, just for example I want the upgrade from MK4 to MK4s, I don't want to wait 5 weeks for that, so I won't pay for that.

If in the future they have stock and I still want the upgrade, I'll see what to do.

This upgrade is not a must have, yes you can print with a little bit of more speed and that's all. Things that you can achieve with other mods.

Best regards.
