Terrible PETG print

Just upgraded my MK4 (originally a 3S) to MK4s and done my first print in my usual PETG, and its the worst print quality and  stringiest/blobby print I've ever done with a Prusa.  The top print is from the printer before modification, the bottom from the MK4S. Slicer version 2.8.1, printer 6.1.3. 0.10 detail layer height, default settings.  I've fitted the silicone boot though how one is supposed to know whether the "settings" are correct for that with a dot that is either right or left in the "Nextruder silicone sock" (is to "on" when the dot is on the left or right)? It's so bad I don't know where to start and at this point wish I hadn't upgraded.

Any help much appreciated.

Well, I may owe Prusa an apology! having done some research I've added the 4S profile to the slicer software it has started printing much better. Unfortunately it's now faulting out on  mintemp issue, so I've ordered a new thermister.

My fault for assuming the 4S would be in the latest version of the slicer (I used the MK4 option).

Did you print with the silicon sock? I had a thermistor problem without and it was gone once I put the silicon sock on.

Hi Volker,

I put the boot on and it has made a huge difference - thanks for the advice.

The prints are still not of the quality I got from the MK4 build standard.

More tinkering I suppose.
