Heatsink spacer missing, how to move forward?
Hello everyone,
while assembling my upgrade from mk3S to mk4s, I couldn’t find the Heatsink spacer in the nextruder 2/2 plastic bag..and I double/triple checked in other bags too…
So.. what is the use of this spacer? To prevent heat transfer from the heatsink to the fan holder? Since I cannot wait for ordering only this part, I’m looking for a way to move forward..either replace with washers, or ignore and continue the assembly?…
Thanks in advance for the help!
RE: Heatsink spacer missing, how to move forward?
I am trying to assembly my new MK4S and cannot find my Heatsink Spacer.
Oh, the humanity!
What can we do?
RE: Heatsink spacer missing, how to move forward?
Contact Prusa support and have them send you one (or the stl if you have another working printer to print one for yourself)?
Check the MK4S printed parts repository to see if there is a stl there if you have another working printer?
Honestly, if this is a missing part from the kit, Prusa will probably throw one in the post for you.

Is it such a problem to look at the printed part on Printables? Surely the material will be described there.

If you look in the printable parts for the MK4S in the Nextruder section, you'll see this:
I highlighted the suggested material for that part for you, i.e. PCCF. My guest is Prusa chose PC for temperature resistance and CF for dimensional stability for pretty much all of the current generation of Nextruders. Given that this part is in the airflow of the cooling fan, you probably could get away with PETG for a while if you don't have access to PCCF.
