Adalinda fail
I’ve been trying to print anAdalinda, but my printer keeps failing, by tearing off a wing at 85-95% complete.
This was my daughter’s favorite model for a while, so I’ve made a bunch of them successfully and consider it an easy model. But it’s been a while and I don’t know if I’ve ever printed it with my MK4, now MK4S. But it just keeps ripping wings.
- I’ve tried changing infill between grid and gyroid.
- I've put the filaments into driers. (Sunlu’s)
- I’ve tried both Prusament and Printed Solid’s Jessie.
- I’ve tried PLA and PETG
- I’ve used the tuning menu to slow the print to 50%
- I’ve upgraded to the MK4S
I’ve used PrusaSlicer for all prints with the stock profile for the spool being used. No custom settings for the printer. I posted somewhere before about this, and someone suggested cleaning the nozzle with a wire brush which I did, to no avail, and when I did the MK4S upgrade I replaced not only the nozzle and sock, but also the heater block and thermistor. This was literally the second print post-upgrade (after the Prusa keychain) so that whole hot-end is pristine right now.
That base where the wing attaches to the body is pretty thin, so I do think a nozzle bump/drag is the issue, but I’m not sure what settings to play with at this point.
Suggestions?
