So to answer my own questions.
Yes the GND on the GPIO is 24v- (from the power supply.)
I connected the sil24 1a72 71l reed relay coil with only one wire to PIN 0 and the other to 24v+
M262 P0 B0
M264 P0 B1
turns the reed relay fan on
and after printing
M264 P0 B0
turns the fan off. Works like a dream.
I think i will make an solid 24v- since i am routing wires from the PSU for external lights anyway (fused)
