Printer stops depositing material early in print - trying to troubleshoot
Welcome advise here. My MK4 printer stops laying down material into print, progressively getting worse - printer does detect issue and keeps going until 100% complete. Image below to illustrate issue. Any recommendations? I suspect it might be my extruder. What I tried so far
- I purged material, and swapped to Prusa PLA just to check if it was material quality issue.
- I swapped nozzles, in case there was material causing issue in nozzle, or nozzle was worn
- I tried different parts to print to be sure it wasnt a bad slice (and confirmed by getting good print on another MK4).

Unload the filament and examine the end - or show us a picture - is the extruder gear grinding a scoop? If so check your extruder idler pressure and maybe do a cold pull. Also it's just possible that you have one dodgy filament triggering the problem and leaving it for subsequent filaments - does that seem likely?
