Printing Isses with PETG and PLA
Hello all,
I'm having a few issue on my Mk4 printer.
It was printing fine earlier in the day with Hatchbox PETG, successfully finish several parts no problem. However, on the latest part there were bed adhesion problems with sections of the print coming off and sticking to the nozzle, using the textured bed. So me double checking, a good course of action would be to clean the bed with hot water only? Also, I saw else where the forum that it could be a z offset issue? Can anyone elaborate on that? Any elaboration on why this issue suddenly occurred? 10-15 minutes prior it finished a print just fine.
Afterword, I decided to use Esun PLA+ on a smooth plate while tried to troubleshoot the PETG where I got the under extrusion in the picture below. This one I have no clue why it might have happened. I was using the Esun PLA profile in Prusaslicer. Like the PETG, the PLA+ was printing fine earlier. Any guesses why?

Yes, repeated printing builds up residues which eventually affect adhesion. Cleaning with solvent between prints slows the process but dishwashing detergent and HOT water is the go to when that fails. Be sure to dry the textured plate properly to prevent rust - pat dry with a fresh paper towel then replace it on the printer and heat the bed for a few minutes.
A Z offset issue is relatively unlikely on a Mk4, on the Mk3 nozzle wear meant recalibrating every few months.
When changing filament from a hotter to a lower printing temperature material always change at the hotter temperature and purge extra to prevent partial clogs. You may be able to clear the nozzle by heating to PETG temperatures and purging but by now any residue may be baked in and require a cold-pull to shift.

Are you making sure your nozzle is clean between prints? If you allow plastic to build up on the nozzle it will mess up the auto bed leveling as the built up plastic on the nozzle will cause inaccurate bed probing.
PETG in particular will build up on the nozzle from normal printing.

Yeah, as soon as I noticed the globbing issue I cleaned the nozzle with a brass sponge. Tired printing again and still came out globby.
