How to selectively delete automatically generated supports
Okay I'm on a MK4S and have a tool that I need to make for work. Printing it as a single piece wasn't going to work so I cut it where it made sense. 1 half printed beautifully but the second piece has overhangs that definitely require supports. I enabled supports from the build plate only and it did a perfect job. UNFORTUNATELY it also added supports in the alignment holes for joining the 2 cut pieces as well is existing holes that are threaded and printed as such. Is there any way to delete only certain autogenerated supports?
The support painting tool can also be used to paint blockers.
Cheerio,
RE: How to selectively delete automatically generated supports
You can't paint the cut dowel holes as they arent part of your underlying base mesh. Also painting in mesh that generates threads is also problematic as you cant see many of the faces.
Do the inverse. Don't use automatic support, but paint on support Enforcers and change to Enforcers Only, so you get control of where supports are placed.
RE: How to selectively delete automatically generated supports
I should have mentioned one other thing. I can't paint on supports because the only places that I need them can't be seen from manually zooming into the model. It's a couple of overhangs that I can't access to manually paint supports onto. Auto generated supports catches them great but also fills in the holes. See attached photo because I'm not good at explaining things.
