RE: First print - small water tank HELP!

Hi Greenymeanie,

as you have found out, the request to ZIP the file, was not to save space, but to cause the forum to accept the file

the forum will accept a number of picture formats directly, but everything else must be zipped...

the text below is quite long... but please read to the end.

as far as your model is concerned, in your second post, you were talking of 2mm wall thickness, however you seem to have used 3mm wall thickness.
you proposed 100%infill  TheJiral suggested 3 perimeters for strength  3 perimeters on a 2mm wall would have resulted in a solid wall
you actually appear to have 3mm walls with 2 perimeters, so there is a section of low density infill, inside each wall. if you were relying on the print to give you a waterproof result, the low density infill would be a big risk.  as you are planning to use the container for drinking water, there is still a chance of a crack forming in the perimeters into the hollow core of the walls. you could increase the number of perimeters in the walls to 4 (which would result in solid walls with probably 7 actual perimeters, after slicing) (Epoxy resin should improve water proofness, but a crack, may overcome the capabilities of the resin film.)
However having lots of perimeters can lead to poor inter perimeter bonding (Arachne  Perimeter generator does seem to handle this better than classic perimeter generator on this sort of model)

the bottom of your box is 2mm thick, you used the default setting for 5 top layers and 4 bottom layers, this caused the slicer to insert one layer of 15% infill, in the middle of the bottom of the box, this in turn would cause one additional layer of  'Bridge infill' in the bottom of your box as well, (Effectively two weaker layers) again, the epoxy resin should take care of this,

I have looked at the options of keeping the current settings for the top and bottom layers at 5 and 4 respectively  and increasing these to say 6 and 4, which will eradicate the weak layers  in the middle of the bottom of your box. Prusa Slicer reports a longer print time, with the infill compared to the solid option (which seems odd) I believe the print speed of the bridge infill layer, is particularly slow...
I have looked at the alternative of 100% infill (you would need to change to rectilinear infill) this would double the print time
I have compare 4 perimeters, to using LOTS of top and bottom layers (both of which cause solid walls)
Prusa slicer estimates 4 perimeters  6 top layers and 4 bottom layers to print slightly slower then lots of top and bottom layers AND 4 perimeters  6 top layers and 4 bottom layers leaves a tiny section at the junction of the sides and bottom, to be left as  low density infill...

so... If I was printing this model, with these dimensions I Would print 2 perimeters 250 top layers and 250 bottom layers, which would result in the shortest print time, and in my opinion the strongest option with the least chance of cracking and delamination of perimeters, in use Solid wall models with sharp corners are likely to warp a little during printing, it is very important to make sure the build plate is really clean before you start the print, and I Would suggest adding a brim, to the model to increase the size of the first layer, to promote good adhesion.
Best wishes, Joan

Ok, thanks for the detailed reply. I've made the changes you suggested and added a pause so I can go to sleep tonight! If this looks good, il go over and hit play!
