Filaflex Foamy MK4 printing suggestions
It must be said that the Recreus company has a large number of interesting filaments in their collection. I have just ordered 2 new ones: the Filaflex Purifier and the Filaflex Foamy. As for the Filaflex Foamy, I have just finished some tests and here is what I can say: The Filaflex Foamy is easy to print on the MK4. However, you have to configure the parameters correctly to achieve the desired results.
1) No need this time to remove the ball holder assembly. The filament is stiff enough to pass through the ball holder assembly. The shore hardness of the Filaflex Foamy is 78A. Download the 70A profile directly from the Recreus website to be able to print the 78A shore hardness.
2) To print other hardnesses proceed as follows:
a) ~65A: On PrusaSlicer: Use the 70A profile, set in 'Max print speed' the value 'Auto Speed' to 35mm/s, leave the temperature at 228°C for the first layer and change the temperature to 250°C for all other layers. On the printer, change the flow to 85 as soon as the second layer is started and the temperature has reached 250°C.
b) 51A: On PrusaSlicer: Use the 70A profile, set in 'Max print speed' the value 'Auto Speed' to 35mm/s, leave the temperature at 228°C for the first layer and change the temperature to 250°C for all other layers. On the printer, change the flow to 70 as soon as the second layer is started and the temperature has reached 250°C.
