Really depends on your use case and sense of aesthetics. As you discovered, on round surfaces there's no place for the slicer to hide the seam. So you can use seam painting as suggested by Neophyte and put the seam somewhere where it interferes with function the least and looks acceptable to you. Or you can choose Random as your seam placement in Settings and get little dots randomly all over the place, which can sometimes be better than a solid seam. In either case, the other tried and true solution is sanding the model.

You can always force the seam to continue upwards and NOT hide it. Sort of reverse of normal so the seam is one continuous item. Sometimes it can look 'better' that way. Just use seam painting to put it where you want.

You have a smoothly curved outer wall, the seam(s) have to go somewhere. As soon as you add a sharp corner the slicer has a place to hide the seam.

I watched it print and I understand now how it's happening. Once it gets to the layer with the opening, it uses the edges of the opening as the layer start point, so.... no seam.

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm printing on an enclosed MK4. You can see a deep seam (on the wall closest to the camera) that goes almost to the top of the print, but stops as soon as I hit the layer where I add some new geometry to to the wall of the print. You can clearly see a contrast in the picture all the way around where the printing changes at this layer. If you run your fingernail down the inside wall you can even feel a slight ridge.

My basic question is, how do I get it to print the entire thing like the top portion of the print and eliminate this seam.
