understanding recommended object thin wall thickness for layer height

I'm using PrusaSlicer 2.7.4, and under "Vertical shells" there is a text box that says "Recommended object thin wall thickness for layer height 0.30 and 2 lines: 0.84 mm, 4 lines: 1.61 mm. As I increment the "Perimeters" value, it appends text in multiples of two to this "recommended object thin wall thickness for layer height." I've read through the Prusa help page on this topic and it doesn't really explain what it means. I found another help topic on this forum, but unfortunately the OP's questions weren't answered and the topic got misdirected to a spiral vase advanced setting. Therefore, I'm asking the questions again:

1. What is the intention behind this text box recommendation?

2. What is meant by "lines?"

Images go a long way with understanding these topics, so if you could include an image with an explanation, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance for your help!

By 'line' it means a single strand of extrusion.

If you add a perimeter to an object then one extra extrusion line is added all the way round.

A thin wall is one that is so narrow that only perimeters are present, no fill, so when you add a perimeter one gets added on each side of the wall, the thickness goes up by two.

Cheerio,

RE: understanding recommended object thin wall thickness for layer height

1. The intention is to help you achieve the best possible print quality. You know how thin walls can have issues like insufficient strength, or poor layer adhesion? Well, PrusaSlicer is suggesting the best thickness for those thin walls so that for can design your model accordingly. If you are creating/designing the file you'll 3d print, this is useful, otherwise, it is irrelevant.

2. Line is perimeter/number of vertical shells.

If I am understanding you both correctly, PrusaSlicer is giving me the minimum wall width to use in the design of a 3D object that has walls only, i.e. not solid?

I'm including a picture to make sure I'm understanding this correctly:
