cant remember, but i think its around 1.5Nm

 

I use a silicon sock as well

Seems I have to eat my words from a few months ago. It took over 1900 hours of printing, but I've had a leak with my tungsten carbide nozzle. I was the first to swear that people having leaks just didn't actually torque properly but here we are. I even bought a special mini torque screw driver just for tightening this one nozzle. Looks like I'll be getting a copper heat block after all.

The Levendigs blocks are out of stock at the moment. They mention only copper whereas the Triangle-lab blocks on AliExpress call out copper alloy. I would think even the Levendigs would have to be an alloy as wouldn't pure copper be way too soft?

Also, Triangle-lab sells the block by itself and the titanium heat break by itself. The titanium heat break can also be bundled with a block but it doesn't mention if it is the copper block or just a regular aluminum block. Does anyone know which it is? Specifically, I'm asking about Set B of this item. If that is the copper block, looks like buying the Set B bundle would save you 25%.

I would bet that the cheaper one really is just the regular aluminium thing.

Please, if anybody should buy the set from Triangle - post your experiences here. I would really, really love to have a properly functioning V6 hotend, but I'm having difficulty trusting sellers on Aliexpress to deliver a solution where Prusa failed to do so. :-/

I bought the "set B" from another seller on AliExpress and the ad is identical, but it's not Triangle Lab as the seller. When I get back from my walking the dog I will weigh a Levendigs heat block vs the one I got from AliExpress and report back.

That was a long walk. 😀 Anyhow, I bought mine (the"B" set) from here: Link to item I just weighed the included heater block from there and it is definitely aluminum and comes in at a whopping 6 grams. The Levendigs heater block I have comes in at 20 grams for the win!!

Thanks for checking! It's a silly nuance but I figured that was the case based on the difference in color of the grub screws. In the copper block listing, they appear to have the same plating as the block itself. The heat break listing with included block has the standard black oxide grub screws.

I'm going to order the stand alone copper block and can report back here about its weight when it eventually arrives.

The copper block from Triangle-Lab ("Color: A Heatbreak Block" from this listing) just arrived and just like Levendigs, it weights 20g.

For the detail oriented, here are the weights (in grams) of the standard Prusa parts vs the copper parts from Triangle-lab.

Prusa

  • Block (Al): 5.88
  • Grub screw: 0.13
  • Sock: 2.38

Triange-Lab

  • Block (Cu): 19.95
  • Grub screw: 0.14
  • Sock: 2.45

Seems like that significant weight increase could definitely affect input shaping.

Does anyone have a rough idea how much the whole Nextruder assembly weighs?  The copper block may weigh almost four times as much as the aluminium block, but what percentage of the total Nextruder weight is that extra 14g?
