MK4 printer constantly going 'offline'

When printing directly from PrusaSlicer, using Prusa Connect, I've been having frequent reports of my printer going offline. I have to power cycle the printer for this to be fixed. This despite checks at the printer, showing it is online.

This only started happening recently. Anyone know of a fix?

Are you wired or wifi?  My MK4 does not do this, but I am wired.  My ESP32 is wifi and does this sometimes.  Pretty sure a new router would fix it, but don't need the camera that badly. If you are wifi, try wired if possible.

On wifi. It was fine previously, it just recently started acting up.

I have 3.9 and until lately it has worked like charm. But now "offline" is all I get.

try going wired and see if that fixes the issue...my printer is wired and never goes offline, the camera however is wifi, and I have to restart it nearly daily to keep it streaming

I don't have a wire option - the printer is over in my garage. Itwas fine on previous versions of the slicer.  I recently upgraded my mac and it seems to be working again (fingers crossed). WHen it stops working, I only have to restart prusaslicer to connect, which is way better than having to go out to the garage and restarting the printer.

Did you switch to a USB3 vs. USB2 stick?   My USB3 stick gave me all sorts of file transfer problems and wifi fails.   The MK4 software does not have USB3 support.

The wifi cards are cheap.  I bought a replacement when I was diagnosing my problem.  I left it in after fixing the USB2.  It seems to be better than the original.  You just have to go through the wifi module setup in the firmware again.

Did you move the printer or put something around it that may be interfering with signal strength?

Diagnosing is tough.  It took me a while, everyone said USB3 wasn't a problem...

No change in the USB stick, it's the original one that came with the machine. I never unplug it.

RE: MK4 printer constantly going 'offline'

I have the same issue, and 50% of the time, estimated, I cannot get it on line even power cycling the printer.  I re-log into Prusa Connect too.  I can time this back to the latest Firmware update. 6.03, as I never lost connection before that installation, thus my firm belief there's a bug in that firmware.  My Mk4 shows up on my router reliably (commercial router) and I can see it with other software tools.  The Mk4 itself shows on line.  Strangely, 2 days ago it stayed connected for the entire day, then started its old tricks again yesterday and today.  The pattern is - shows on line/idle, I try to transfer a file for printing and it goes off-line, then sits in a loop affecting both Connect and the printer until I cancel the activity on both the PC and the printer.  Wired is not an option for me either.

I'm still using the original Prusa USB drive (got all January 2024, MMU3 March 2024).  Very frustrating.  The failed transfer if it started also creates an 'invisible' file on the USB so I cannot restart or re-copy to it once it comes back on line.  I have to rename the file to get it to transfer, or even copy directly (put the USB drive in the computer).

I know they're doing a lot of stuff, like this Mk4S upgrade, etc.  I'll also mention that for 6 months they still only have one nozzle profile 0.4 for the MMU3 IS.  Seriously? They sell different nozzles, including the Obxidian 0.6, which I bought, but cannot use reliably as modding the  one 0.4 profile used to work with one error message and now eliminates the initial filament wipe and other issues with Slicer 2.8 and Firmware 6.03.  It's hard t consider purchasing the 4S upgrade when they created all these issues with the Mk4 and do not seem to be working on them.
