MK4 layer shifts on the X axis after installing 5.1.0-alpha2

First two benchie prints after installing 5.1.0-alpha2 on MK4 both had layer shifts on the X axis.

Prusament PETG, 0.4 nozzle, stock input shaper 0.2 quality profile, Prusa Slicer 2.7.0-alpha1

Before the update there were no issues.

I can confirm the same issue. Not sure yet if it's 5.1.0-alpha2 or the slicer 2.7.0-alpha1. I will downgrade to 5.0 again.

I did some tests, regreased and tensioned the belts and printed some temp towers, same gcode sliced with latest prusaslicer, except I disabled binary gcode, on both 5.0 and 5.1.0 alpha 2 and in fact the print quality has improved with 5.1.0 alpha 2, not much, but a bit. I haven't tested binary gcode yet, maybe the binary gcode is causing issues.

RE:

Sure. Print Settings -> Output options -> Output File -> Export as binary G-code

I was able to sort out the issues and it clearly wasn't the alpha2 firmware. I had to tension my y-belt a little more and had to replace the x-axis-carriage that melted and now 5.1 alpha2 print quality including binary gcode is even better than 5.0 in direct comparison with same model.

I had similar issues and then I saw that the x-carriage-holder in fact was melted at the position where the extruder/nozzle actually is, interfering with the movement of the bearings, most probably due to the usage of the prusa sock (not yet sure on that but I only used standard temps for petg and was pretty schocked to see it). Other people seem to have had similar issues and I followed their recommendation and printed the x-carriage-holder in abs. So far no more issues and even improved the print quality a lot with the latest firmware

Today I had 2 layer shifts with this gcode. MK4 5.1.0-alpha2 / PS 2.7.0 alpha1 I had to print the objects separately then everything was fine.

I've been getting layer shifts using PETG since I upgraded to 5.0.  upgrading to this beta has made it worse.  With or without binary gcode.  Shifts in both axis.  I've checked belt tensions, pulleys, everything.  But it seems to just happen with PETG.
