For me it was the extruder main cable hitting the electronics box and causing too much resistance randomly. This got the X-Axis homing confused and made it automatically restart the printer sometimes.

This is caused by me putting the nylong-guide-filament in the wrong way, and it bending the part closest to the electronics box against it.

Also just for good measure, i let the little endstop screw next to the X-Axis motor stick out a bit further.

Hi everyone,

I have exatly the same problem on my brand new MK4 (Firmware 6.0.1+14848).
Two of your advices helped me solving it (for the moment...):

Fully tightening of fan door screw
avoiding tension on the extruder/x-axis via the filament

Now it's working properly. Thanks to all! 😍

Also check if the screw that holds the fan door is firmly tightened as if the door is too loose it surely has an impact:

Update, it detects force from filament and thinks it is crash. I have own filament holders with cheap bearings, need to change them for smoother rooling.

Same here. Before every print it detects crash and starts bashing, but after bashing ends it will allways start printing. No error or canceled print.

It begins after 5.0.0 firmware update.

Definitely seems that tightening the 3 x-axis motor mount bolts has helped. Will see if it continues.

I don't know how it resolved itself, but I did an XY calibration a few times then a FULL calibration. No bashing since!

Same issue occurs for us. Sometimes works, sometimes x-axis bashes over and over then works, or fails, or says crash detected. Haven't figured a solution yet.

5.1.2 MK4 (ObXidian 0.4)

In the past three days, nearly every print has begun with a homing of the X-Axis, where it crashes over and over into the left side, then accepts the new value and prints like normal. Does not matter if the print is started with the control panel or with PrusaConnect.

I have been on the latest firmware for some time now, and am not sure why this would start now. It happened with the end of a roll of filament and now with a fresh roll as well, mounted on the stand sent with the machine.

I'm very close to trying a factory reset, or just going through the full calibration wizard... I already tried just calibrating X & Y under the control menu.

Also encountered this issue. tried a couple times, reset, same result. Was printing from Prusa Link. Shows crash detected with x and y with green checks, banging on left side. No visible obstructions, tube not strained.

I then printed from control panel and print started
