MK4 firmware upgrade issues.

Hello all,

I’m having issues trying to update my MK4 firmware (current ver 5.1.2).

I’m trying to update to ver 6.0.3 but the printer is having none of it. I’ve been through 14 different USB sticks, new and old (4 brand new).

I have read posts recommending FAT32, others saying eFAT. Neither of these formats will work as each time I try to copy the .bbf file across I get a pop-up saying ‘The file MK4_MK3.9_firmware_6.0.3.bbf has properties that can’t be copied to the new location’.

So, the only format that will accept the .bbf file is NTFS but when I insert this into the printer, press the reset button and nothing, the printer sees the USB stick but doesn’t read it.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you.

RE: MK4 firmware upgrade issues.

What operating system are you using to download the file and copy it to the USB drive?

RE:

When you get the error, is there a Y/N to continue anyway?   From that error,  I think it is metadata properties that Windows NTFS supports but not FAT32.  It does not change the working file to select Y to copy it.   The properties metadata is what you see when you open the file properties in windows.

No problems for me copying .bbf files to thumbdrive from Windows 11 drive with the thumb drive plugged into PC.  Thumbdrive is USB2, using a FAT32 format 32Gig maximum.  the .bbf has been downloaded from Prusa/Github.  It has not been compiled on my PC.   Fat32 is required for the 3D printer.

RE: MK4 firmware upgrade issues.

I transfer my files via Connect. It copies the file on the usb drive and after that I push reset.
