MK4 Configuration Assistance

Could use some help. I have been fighting my MK4 for months. I have tried every recommended setting. Tightened my belts, reassembled my X, Y, and Z rails/motors, filament type and setting don't make a difference. I know i have an under extrusion issue, but there are more problems. I could use some help. Would someone who has a proper working MK4&MMU3 drop me a export of your configuration settings. I would like to at least rule that out. I have attached pictures for your viewing pleasure, and if you have ideas, please don't hesitate. My external parameters are crap.

RE: MK4 Configuration Assistance

Honestly, the default presets should work great in most cases.  For me under extrusion like this is usually caused by something simple.

This is a list of my personal favorites.

Selecting a printer preset with the wrong size nozzle or incorrectly setting the nozzle size in the printer configuration settings.

Trying to print faster than the print head heater can melt the plastic. (Could also be too low of a print temperature)

Insufficient spring tension on the idler arm, of excessive resistance to filament in the feed path.

Partially clogged nozzle

and my absolutely most infamous cause is damp filament.

I recommend the following order of troubleshooting.

Select an unmodified preset printer profile, a default filament profile, check your tension spring adjustment, and restore Prusa settings to default. Make sure your filament is not hard to pull into the nozzle.  Try your print.

If that doesn't work, heat the nozzle up to 280C and extrude a couple hundred mm of filament.  Then try your print again.

Then try a different but known good (dry) filament.

Then try a spare nozzle.

Good luck

Lynn,

Thank you for the ideas. I went back to default preset for every setting. I checked the nozzle clog issue, nothing found. The pictures below are the same filament, same temperatures, printed the same day on my MK3+(left) and MK4(right). I also confirmed everything up to the spare nozzle. I don't have one for the MK4 yet, gonna buy one now. I hope but doubt. This printer has printed like this from day one. Have not got a successful print out of it yet.

/R, Seth
