Mk4-Alpha 4 No PiD?

I feel like I’m having a funny string issue and I would like to tune the PiD but I don’t see it anywhere.

im scared to tighten up the idler screws more.  I e printed TPU twice with no load or feeding issues.

Mk4 don't have PID Tuning.

There is no PID tuning option in the MK4 menus.

If you connect a serial host to the USB-C port, you can send M503 to get the current PID values, M303 to run a PID auto calibration, and then M301 to set new values (check a Gcode reference for syntax of each).  The MK4 doesn't let you save values to CMOS, so to get them to persist you will need to add the M301 with parameters to your start Gcode in the slicer.

I tried M303 some time ago (firmware 4.6.4) and I had problems getting the auto-tune routine to complete when using higher targets (i.e., S230).  I don't know if that still exists in later firmware versions (have not tried it since 4.6.4).  It did appear to complete correctly with lower targets, like S210, but got hung up on higher targets.

At least on my Mk4, the default PID values are really, really good.  I use Octoprint so I have a chart of the temperatures (I think PrusaConnect does that too?), and both the bed and nozzle temps are "rock solid" -- like a variance of less than 0.1C.  So, you might try charting the existing temperatures to see how stable yours is at factory defaults before proceeding further.

Did it help with your string issue?
