LAN Problems with Firmware 6.0.0

Since firmware update to 6.0.0 my MK4 has massive LAN problems. It is not possible to transfer a lager stl file to the printer. A ping command to the printer shows request timeouts and the printer is disconnected and was not reconnecting after transfering a few megabytes. Disconnection and then reconnection of the LAN cable solves the problem for a short time.

My actual solution was a downgrade to 5.1.3. With this version everything works fine. I see some request timeouts with the ping command, but everything works fine.

Question: Has anyone this problems with the LAN connection too?

RE: LAN Problems with Firmware 6.0.0

Upgraded all my Mk4 and Minis to 6.0 last weekend, haven't experienced any issues.

No LAN issues here with Mk4 and 6.0.0 either. I send files from PruaSlicer or PrusaLink and all has been fine.

Re: LAN Problems with Firmware 6.0.0

Since my upgrade to FW 6.0.0 RC1 I have got the same issue.
For some time the connection flips from "Connected" to "no AP". Then connects for longer time and disconnects on network action. I am unable to upload files using PrusaLink and PrusaConnect most of the time.

Using a Fritz!Box 7590. -> After reading https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues/3864 and then changing the WPA method from "WPA2 (CCMP)" to "WPA + WPA2" is seems to work now.

Solved: LAN Problems with Firmware 6.0.0

The problems with the LAN connection still existed, a downgrade to the firmware had fixed it. Upgrade to version 6.0.0 and the problem was back. After a short time the LAN connection was gone, everything was displayed correctly in the printer, IP address etc. everything was ok. I unplugged the power cable and plugged it back in and it worked again for a short time.

The good news is: I have hopefully identified and solved the problem. The MK4 is connected via LAN to a Fritz Repeater 2400 (the WiFi connection of the MK4 is incredibly slow). Today I had the idea of putting a LAN switch between the Fritz repeater and the MK4. What can I say: The connection (seems to) remain stable. I sent large .gcode files from the slicer to the printer several times and the error no longer occurred.

So it is probably the combination of Fritz Repeater 2400 LAN connection to the MK4 that is causing the problems.

PS: Funny thing is that after a downgrade to FW5 the operation of the MK4 via touch display, which is actually only available from FW6, continued to work in many places 😉 This means that the downgrade is not a 100% downgrade.
