How far up to push the nozzle?
The official instructions specify an approximate distance at the bottom end, but there are two more constraints in play
1) The small steps in the stainless portion. The thumbscrews catch these to keep the hotend from falling out, but there's a little play left
2) If you push the nozzle all the way up, the top touches the printed filament guide piece near the gears (picture attached)
My question is whether the top of the nozzle is supposed to touch this piece or not. Mechanically, I'd say "not" because that load bypasses the load cell to a degree.
If there's a big gap, filament could squish through it, but it can't be that big based on the thumb screws.
I'm asking because my first layer consistency is terrible. Seems like something has to be a little off in my extruder assembly.
