Thank you all for helping me explore this issue. I just now had an email from a Prusa Customer Support person following a chat session that I had with him a couple of days ago. Here is what he says about G2 and G3 arcs:
"A few days ago we were on chat talking about your issue with gcode.Unfortunately, G2 and G3 do not work with the Z axis at the moment, so you can't use it the way you want.Our developers are currently working on that and it should be fixed in the near future with one of the next FW releases. "
Given that, I will modify some files to use straight line segments because I have to use them right away, and await for an update to fix the rest.
