Unacceptable prints...considering bambu..please help

Once again I'm having poor print quality from my MK4. Issues include poor bridging, layer shifts, peeling off the bed, rough surfaces, missing perimeter areas and gaps, etc.  I am hoping someone might check my files, pictures, and help me figure out what to check. The filament is printed solid jessie PLA, and I've had good results in other smaller prints with it. I've confirmed the belt tension is fine. I use a filament box to hold the filament reels above the printer, running through teflon tubes. With the reels on a pvc pipe, and separate from the reels next door by PLA thick large washers. Think this might be due to slightly higher filament tension ahead of the extruder?

RE:

It is jessie pla from printed solid. It's in a sealed box with color changing dessicant, fed through a teflon tube into the printer. I believe it's dry.

Filament isn't always dry when it comes out of the package, try drying your roll of filament and it should come out lots better!

I am going to do a bunch of stuff to confirm dry filament and retest. I have successfully printed nice parts yesterday in PETG. Which is supposedly harder to print than the PLA.

I can't speak specifically to the Jessie PLA, but I bought three rolls of Jessie PETG and was not satisfied with the results compared to Prusament PETG. I saw some of the same sort of rough patches that you see. I print from dry boxes, and I had dried the filament after I opened it. It's not worth it to return any of it so I will use it for rough prototyping work. I ordered more Prusament. The filament is more expensive, but my time is worth more.

Do you have another brand to try?

Re: The effect of damp, I can only comment from my experience, first with a HobbyKing Fabrikator, then a Mk3 from when it first appeared on sale, and now also a Mk4.

My printers are in a SE UK room which varies from 30C to 14C on season, and which has three tropical fish heated tanks evaporating water. None have enclosures.

All my 46 mostly PLA filament reels are on shelves, some dating back to that first purchase, and in some cases while in their cardboard boxes, a few do not have plastic bags any longer nor silicone packs.

I have not had to dump any reels prematurely, or reject their quality and I only buy budget material unless prevented by need for a colour.  Not really found much difference between five year old or near new.

So why do I not suffer lots of issues, as I clearly do not do it right?  Honest answer, I do not know!

When going to use any reel I continually snap off the brittle filament end in roughly 25mm sections until I get bend not break, sometimes this can be 350mm, but more usually around for a long stored reel 100mm.

I set bed temperature by a thermal gun and "Tune" the bed temp manually to get it ACTUALLY right to the makers recommendation on both Prusa's. As an example of the offset, on the Mk3 to get 60C average across the bed I'm setting it to 80C on the panel! Yes, sometimes I will find the makers setting can be improved, but its not common.

This all leads to the personal view that maybe damp is over stated as a reason for failure?

Damp is often cited as reason. I also have heard recently that filament that is more than a year old is no good. I have also heard stories of people using 5 year old filament without issue. I know in injection molding damp pellets can cause major issues in molding, so it stands to reason this might have similar though less significant issues.

I believe it's an issue with the printer HW or SW.

The past few days I printede using NON input shaper mode with PETG. Those parts are great. I switched over to that material to create new dehydrator rings, so i could dry my PLA filaments. I also started test printing with ASA from Prusament. I cracked open the bag, and printed some placards with text added using input shaper, wich worked for all other material placards. The text would not stick to the layer underneath, and all the letters were misshapen and fell off. I later printed the same using th enon input shaper, and the text worked.

Today I'm trying to print the same part in the original non input shaper in a Jessie PLA which I have NOT dried to see what happens. I will check it periodically to see if it's going well. If it starts to go badly, I will then try the same with a dried filament to see what differences I see.
