Thanks for the infos - well done!!
32-bit board, input shaping, linear advance, posibility for highspeed printing, nextruder with quickswap change function, more stable frame, a.s.o, I consider todays standard features and brings the new Prusa Printer, howerver it's called, to the state of the art.
I'm also curious about changes to MMU3.
wbr,
Karl

MMU3 has made a huge difference to multi material printing... no wondering what the LEDS are trying to say, no wondering about which button to press when an issue occurs. easier adjustment of the MMU and filament tower items. useful messages on the lcd
I hope this update helps change the ballance on MMU viability.
regards Joan

Hi Joan,
Thank you for your comments. I was already able to implement the changes (no mysterious LED blinking, plain text messages on LCD display) in Klipper. But I am curious what has changed in the mechanics. Let's wait for the release 👍

Karl

Some companies offer a discount should someone buy a printer close to the release of a new one. In my case I've barely had my printer a month and a new model comes out which leaves me a bit annoyed. Plus the upgrade price is around 60% or so of what I paid for my kit.

I hope so too. Do you own one or are you buying one? I have built two prior MMUS and sold them once they did not meet my expectations.

I suspect they are a "beta tester" or something. But the MMU3 can only be an improvement, it took me a while to get mine running because somehow the main body was broken in shipping and I failed to print a good one a few times (bad 1st layer calibration on my part).
RE: MK4 / MK3.5 / MK3.9 / MMU3 Announced!
The 3.9 upgrade description mentioned adding the 7.0 motors later, alluding to a 3.9 -> upgrade.
How about a 3.5 -> 3.9 upgrade? I am all in on the 3.5 electronics, but want to wait and see how that goes, before changing out the extruder/hot end.
RE:
just tried to buy the MK4 in kit form but only get a NOTIFY WHEN AVAILABLE has anyone Know the lead time on the availability of the MK4 in kit? I see the complete printer is a 6-8 weeks but nothing on the kit form of MK4.

Say, does anyone know for sure what is the origin of the new xBuddy 32 bit board?
Is this a Prusa-developed and designed board, or is it an off-the-shelf type of thing.
I thought I was familiar with most of the common Reprap types of controller boards, but the photos of the xBuddy do not look familiar.
RE: MK4 / MK3.5 / MK3.9 / MMU3 Announced!
The product info on their website covers this:
"The entire board was designed, manufactured, and tested in-house."

I hoped the MK4 kits would be readily available rather than the entirely built units. Selling the kits first means instant revenue. Built kits require assembly and time.

I have heard they should be available in a matter of days.

Any update on the full upgrade mk3s to MK4 availability originally set for June. It seems odd that it's a different date then full mk4 kit availability being discussed here for many of the same reasons.
RE: MK4 / MK3.5 / MK3.9 / MMU3 Announced!
So? Am I the only one happy with what I've got and not planning to upgrade?
RE: MK4 / MK3.5 / MK3.9 / MMU3 Announced!
You clearly haven't heard of the Prusa Calendar. Pretty similar but days = weeks, weeks = months, months = years.
As long as you set your expectations according to the above, you'll only be disappointed 1/3rd of the time:)
RE: MK4 / MK3.5 / MK3.9 / MMU3 Announced!
I am very happy with my MK3S+ / MMU2S+. I am still planning to upgrade just to come along for the ride. Hobby, not business. I will give it some time to see reports on any issues or quality differences between the upgrade paths though, and will not be a day-1 tester. 😉
So? Am I the only one happy with what I've got and not planning to upgrade?
