RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Id say if you have two printers you are good to go for upgrades i have a mk2 that i upgraded to mk2.5s+ with time and the only issue i had was to break parts to get nuts back doing that pretty much suck since if you only have 1 printer theres no back up for rebuild to reprint s messed up step part etc
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
The Mk4 Upgrade is likely going to be like building a full Mk4. I will let you know when I build my mk4 kit. I do have an MK4 upgrade coming also.
Personally, I had zero mechanical ability prior to the Prusa Kits. In 2017, I bought a I3 Mk2 from someone that decided they could not built it themselves. I have upgraded that printer every step of the way. Each upgrade has been of varying difficulty. I prefer to build the printers myself because it teachs me how to fix them.
I curious, maybe this is the wrong thread. how hard is the kit assembly as compared to a conversion Kit upgrade , I have two MK3S's that I want to to possibly sell or upgrade depending on what it takes and how reliable that process is. Thoughts?

Totally agree on that. When you know that you put it together once, you know you can do it again. Plus it helps visualize what could be going wrong.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
🙁 Order 1681315100 placed on 4/12/2023 (Wednesday, April 12, 2023 4:58:20 PM CET) for a kit only (didn't want to pay duty) still hasn't shipped to USA as of 9pm UTC on the 17th. I suppose it's not quite the week of the 19th yet, but that was at half hour ahead of the cutoff listed at https://help.prusa3d.com/article/shipping-information_2297
Oh, well. I probably don't have time until August to assemble it anyway (but I'm sure I will within a day or two of receiving it anyway).
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
So it looks like I missed the cut off by 10 minutes- or put another way, I needed to order it before I even got the email….
Hopefully that will mean I’m in the first week, but seeing how this is run, I doubt it.
RE:
Ordering it before I got the email is exactly what I did... had happened to be at the webshop looking for some ASA Prusament and saw the kit listing was active. My payment confirmation email arrived at 12:07pm local time (Eastern and "The Original Prusa MK4 kit is available" arrived at 12:24pm.
Well, I tried...
RE:
I missed the deadline by 12 minutes. Actually, I was hoping that I could screw the MK4 together next weekend. But I can't believe it, it's Prusa. I would like to know how many printers they sold on the first day.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
I think your order time is 5:58 CET (3:58 GMT) and not 4:58 CET so I think it will be shipped on next week. My order time is 5:38CET and should be shipped on next week, at least I hope so 🙂
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
You are probably correct. My order was at 1243pm EST or 643pm CET. I am not sure why mine shipped but it might be what was in the order with the printer and not time time itself.

Thanks, Gregory. I think I missed a switch from Standard (then) to Daylight time (now) when looking up the zone difference to calculate by hand. Letting Ubuntu do it for me agrees with you:
$ TZ="Europe/Prague" date --date='@1681315100'
Wed Apr 12 05:58:20 PM CEST 2023
Hopefully it ships before the next time they restock on the nozzle adapter... the ability to easily/quickly change nozzles is one of the main things I want, but I already have so many nozzles, including hardened steel which they don't yet offer. Already let one in-stock notification slide since the kit hadn't shipped yet.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
The nozzle adapter sould not affect your order because it is reserved for your order, the time you ordered the adapter
RE:
Hi guys,
Just for your information, i have order #1681313011 which is something like 17:24 CET and the order has not been yet shipped. I'm ok with that, but it may be a sign that they are a bit late compared to the shipping table.
Good luck 🙂
(why is this waiting for moderation??)
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
I wish Prusa would've included the V6 nozzle adapter in the kit to start with, instead of including a $30 complete hot end assembly that would be trash when its nozzle wears off.
RE:
I think have to be happy with what you got.

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Its not a complete hot end assembly, its a 27$ nozzle, you keep the heater block termistor heater cartridge. Its not as nice as revo imo but saying v6 is better then this is a stretch unless you like 2$ cheap nozzle clone but if that the goal why go with a mk4 for full cheap clone on the whole setup.
this aint a cheap machine don’t expect cheap parts
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
(Thanks, @holzi... I wasn't clear that it's a separate order -- including a few new-style Prusa nozzles and some of my favorite Prusament -- to which I am waiting to add the nozzle adapter. The US$799 price of the kit seems to very deliberately be US$1 under the US$800 threshold at which you have to pay an import duty, so I didn't want to add anything to the kit order... plus I wanted to place the order as fast as I could!)
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
What does that even mean?? I'm saying that it would be more economical if we had the V6 nozzle adapter with a .4mm nozzle with the kit. This way, when that nozzle wears off, we can use any nozzle that we already own, or are able to buy WITHOUT having to spend an additional $30! You make it sound like we are getting a handout, that we "have to be happy with what we got".

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
I thought you were complaining about getting a free spool of filament and not a nozzle. Either way, you got what you got. I am sure hardened nozzles will be available soon.

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Yes the adapter would have made sense - means users can use previous nozzles etc. But this way Prusa can sell more accessories and make more money too!! lol

Im not going to use the adapter why make me pay for it value engineering 101 sell the minimum of the product the customer need.
