RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
So many schlubbed people in here
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
People complaining here are undoubtedly a minor number of customers. I am sure there are many others who are complaining elsewhere too. But, Prusa I am sure are doing their best, and in todays supply chain world, I am not really surprised that the dates have continued to slip.
Prusa isn't reading this thread, and isn't scouring the internet for other complaints, they just aren't. The MK4 isn't a critical / necessary product for anybody, any business built around 3D printing already have a tool they're using. If you got rid of your MK3 early because you were anticipating getting the MK4 soon, then that's on you. If you need to go another route with Bambu or whomever, then do so. Supporting competition is one way to force Prusa to innovate with their product fulfillment as well as their product.
Another solution might be with your credit card company. I believe the laws (in the U.S. at least, and it might be a credit card company policy) state that only a "deposit" can be taken for a product until time of shipping. This is why Prusa specifically calls their payment a deposit. I would bet the credit card companies don't count a full payment as a deposit, they might even have rules about what percentage can be considered a deposit.
If you're one of the people upset about your money being held for so long, give your credit card company a call and kick up a stink about the deposit being the full price of the product. If credit card companies call Prusa out on this "deposit", then I bet Prusa changes their tune. It would possibly force them to implement a better fulfillment process because they would not be sitting on the cash, but only on the promise of the cash once the product goes out.
A quick search seems to point to there are no laws in the US about deposits vs full payment. There are some credit card company policies to that effect, but they essentially boil down to "you can't charge for product in advance of the time you ship the product, unless an agreement outlining otherwise is in effect."
Section 3.10 of the Prusa General Terms and Conditions seems to have a statement that satisfies these requirements:
3.10 Thus, the purchase order submitted to the Seller represents the Buyer’s proposal to execute a purchase contract on the basis of these Terms and Conditions. The confirmation of the purchase order represents acceptance of the proposal by the Seller. If a purchase order includes goods that are not in stock for immediate dispatch to the Buyer, the Seller will deliver the goods without undue delay when they are back in stock. The Seller will indicate an illustrative, non-binding delivery date directly on the E-shop website or upon confirmation of the purchase order.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
The problem is not that it takes a long time or that there are delays. The problem is that customers have to pay for goods right after ordering, which are not yet available. Prusa is thus lining its pockets for the time being at the expense of the customer. This is an interest-free loan at the expense of the customers. If Prusa goes bankrupt in the meantime, the customers' money is gone.Ordering goods would be ok, if they had to be paid before delivery.I have no more confidence in this company. Never again will I order anything there.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
No, the customers do not “have” to pay. They chose to pay. This is not the case that Prusa said the printer was in stock and then it suddenly took months.
Yes, communication hasn’t always been the best. And Prusa is very optimistic on their timelines. But nobody forced anyone to pay money on a product that was not ready to ship. That was an individual choice on part of people that ordered, such as myself.
Everyone who wanted an MK4 HAD THE OPTION to WAIT and not order while it was still out of stock. They could (and still can) wait until Prusa catches up with the orders and has the MK4 ready for immediate shipment. That will likely take a long time…but it is definitely something the customers could have done.

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Misunderstanding, my problem is not with the advance payment, but with the fact that when I order and pay for the printer, the delivery time is given in 6-8 weeks. Now I'm at the point where they promise delivery in 12 weeks, which is completely uncertain, because the delivery deadline is pushed back every two weeks. It might be 14-18 weeks before I get it, and I think that's unacceptable.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
My order 1681319139 just got shipped 7:05. Orange kit.

Why so difficult? Cancel your order and you have your money back on your CC within days.
Done that, kudos voor Prusa for their quick refund.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
mine (order number 1681320456) changed to "in progress".
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Ok, the MMU3 for the MK4 is in the testing process and should be available in August. The projected shipping date for my MK4 kit, ordered in late April, has now moved back to mid-August. Anyone want to speculate on whether I will be able to add a MMU3 to my order before it ships? I'm not saying that I want to do that, but it might be interesting to read the MMU3 for the MK4 assembly manual before actually assembling the MK4.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
Just speculation, but I would be surprise if that does not shift to the right.

As long as it doesn't shift to the wrong.
It is conceivable that an MMU3 "added" to a waiting order could be shipped ahead of one standalone ordered at near the same time.
Just speculation, but I would be surprise if that does not shift to the right.

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
I think I remember on one of the Prusa live episodes that they specifically said they didn’t want people trying to put the MMU and the Mark four together at the same time. I think they were besieging people to put the Mark four together and get it running and then add the MMU3. That may be why they’re holding off on the MMU3 until later. I know that’s not what you said you were going to do, but even I find it tempting since assembling and on assembling, and then reassembling these things is kind of a pain.

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
My MK4-Kit order number 16813197XX was delivered today July 21, 2023.
It was 7 days between getting the shipped notice and having it delivered.
It was delivered 3 days earlier than the delivery estimate from DHL. 🙂
When I ordered the MK4 kit, the ETA was "New orders will be processed in July."
Prusa meet the ETA by processing the order and shipping the printer in July.

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
So if I'm doing the conversion right, an order placed less than 3 hours before mine has been delivered.
My 1681330xxx order still sets as Paid / New.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
I dont think so: look at the order numbers. Yours is around 10.000 orders after mine.
RE: Mk4 Kit Availability
So? Yer leaving out an important detail.
Do the new kits still include the bears?

As you probably know, the Haribo Goldbaren are a critical part of the assembly process.
They are included in the kit.
