RE: Mk4 Kit Availability

I understand the frustration.  I have been buying Prusa printers for over six years.  You get this when you buy a pre-order or early release from them.  The timelines have improved, but it is not what many Western European and US businesses would do.  I would accept that which you cannot change.  The best you can do is complain on the forum and send off a tersely worded email and accept the fact that it was it is.

Prusa customer service is very disappointing. I feel they reply like robots and don't have any information. I just contacted them regarding my order from 17:38 CET. They don't have any estimate and the answer I got: "April 12th from 5.30 pm until midnight (CET) Currently shipping - From Week 25 (starts June 19th) to Week 28 (starts July 10th)". This info I can get from their site. I don't need customer agent for that. Really disappointing.

How did you ask?  I would recommend the store chat box.

I chatted with them yesterday to add the enclosure bundle to my order. I did not bother asking when my order will be shipped. It’ll ship when it ships.

Thanks. I agree with you. I need more patience. I just don't have any other printer now. I sold my Mk3S+ after ordering Mk4. It is a little bit frustrating cause we are in 2023. Release, supply chain and etc should be better. I also wasn't sure if to continue with Prusa printers. I was thinking about ordering Bambu and for sure I could already be with a printer but I like Prusa products. I still not sure if it was right decision.

Completely agree. I’m in the same boat - I also sold my MK3S+ just after ordering the MK4 as I managed to get a good price for it, so would have been a fool to turn down the offer. I have no need for 2 printers so keeping it as a backup wasn’t really an option. So I’ve been printerless since then as well.

I also considered the Bambu- several time sin fact. Was very close to ordering and, like you, I’m still back and forward. But have decided to hold on! Hopefully just a few weeks now!

MK3S/+ -> MK4 kits supposed to ship this coming week,  I can't wait.  Taking a small sojourn down to florida for a the early part of the week so I'm hoping the 2 upgrade kits I ordered come in later in the week and I'll have something fun to do over the July 4th weekend lol

That’s just for the full conversion to the Mark four, correct? I’m going to the 3.9 and if I remember correctly I was told not until late July for that.  Or is that just another queuing problem?

Let me know if it ships.  I suspect there will be a delay.

yeah that's a conversion to MK4.   if I read the last update from Joe,     Those should start shipping the week of the 26th.   I've had all the parts printed for over a month lol    I guess I won't get my hopes up.

I am going to print the parts this week with my P1p and Mk3s.  What filament did you use?

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability

I contacted them through email. Got an (somewhat) answer that it is estimated to ship in second half (correctly "beginning of second half") of july. My paypal payment went through at 19:29 on the 12th of april for the MK4 Prusa Kit. So I (beeing blond) expected it to ship last or at least next week, but with prusa it seems you never know. It seems to me that you can expect the worst. I am angry. Its one thing investing in a project beforehand that is yet not finished, but financing a finished product with the full amount, and getting it over three months later(?) if I would have done that with my customers I would be broke already. I might not be the best business man but my customers can trust me, and thats something I am missing with Prusa. On the 3rd of April I got an email with the headline "Welcome Prusa MK4! - shipping has already started" (Beeing blond again) I thought the kits have to be quicker cause it is less work for the company, but again business is business and the full mounted kits are expensiver and therefore they seem to be delivered sooner to sell more of them.

RE: Mk4 Kit Availability

should the new printable parts be printed in ABS , ASA or PETG  ? I have not done ABS/ASA yet, I have to setup my enclosure before I use those.

yeah probably so.  My area doesn't have a great option for recycling that sort of thing.

RE:

I think in the past the only parts that needed ASA/ABS were the fan shroud.   I'm doing them all in ABS just because I like the color.  I moved my printer (in enclosure and vented the fumes outside for about a week of printing lol.  ABS is pretty easy to print with honestly, just have the worry about the fumes.  later I might do some dual color like I did for my mk3s,

There are a couple more pieces.  i can remember on MK3 that my Pinda arm began to melt.  I printed that part our of ASA, also.
