RE:
I don't understand the hate you're apparently getting for this. Prusa printers (most 3D printers) are not an appliance, they are an open sourced device that naturally appeals to makers, tinkerers, designers, etc. and often problems use crowd sourced solutions. Posting what support has responded with is helpful to know in troubleshooting. Perhaps someone who has a similar issue now doesn't need to waste the time of support to try the things your reported, and it may work in their case.
Knowing that Prusa thinks there is possibly a design flaw is also good. Personally I prefer when a company owns their problems, and a design flaw will likely mean a small (mm) change in the printed parts that will now be included in kits, and potentially sent out to customers. I personally would have rather you posted to here and then mirrored it on Reddit because Reddit threads don't typically flow chronologically... but they do allow for expansion on portions of the topic.
Eventually 3D printers will be an appliance where service trucks are able to repair your refrigerator by printing the part needed rather than ordering one. Right now, they are for us tinkerers and someone being cranky about crowd sourcing solutions when Prusa themselves fully support and love the crowd/open sourced environment is absurd.
I only put up one video and it wasn't that one and I only posted it once a week ago, but nice try being a jerk.
No, we touched every possible part, screw, bolt, tension, etc and the planetary gears themselves weren't making the noise. It was a tolerance issue between the toolhead carriage, it's bearing mounts, and the planetary gear slippage.
Like @selta said, he's been making a LOT of claims with nothing to back them up. When pressed for evidence to back up his stories, he just falls back on 'I've been working with Prusa for 10 years and have built a close relationship with them" .. he's singlehandedly spread so much misinformation about the MK4 that people are claiming to be cancelling orders because of the things he's posted here and on Reddit. It's actually amazing one person can do so much damage. If you look around at most of the threads on social media with people wondering if the MK4 has problems you'll find most of them referencing content he's posted. I'm surprised Prusa hasn't taken legal action against him.
RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
Those last 2 comments are fair, I wasn't aware that he claims 50% of printers are having issues. I would agree that if there were that many people having issues there would be many more voices out there. There could have been a bad batch of parts, printed or purchased, that affect a small number of printers, or could be a design flaw as he says. I guess we'll know if Prusa changes some of the parts.
I doubt he's doing that much damage, and there's probably no way Prusa would take legal action against him for that... that's pretty ridiculous. If someone is so fickle on cancelling their order because of this, then so be it.
My point still stands though, crowd sourcing solutions is a positive thing. I wish this poll was visible without voting, because I don't have a printer, so can't vote, and it would give us a better picture of the issues.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for identifying any issues and putting pressure on Prusa to resolve them if they aren't already actively doing so. I just think that in this particular case, the 'speaking on behalf or Prusa' was out of control and it was just causing confusion and mistrust.

Now that support has publicly admitted to shipments having been halted for a while, I assume I’ll get some apologies?

They said the latest batch was delayed but it was a production issue affecting the latest batch of unshipped printers, not any shipped machines and none of the stuff you claimed. You're still in the shit house 😆

Where did they say this? I missed it!

They told me that the last batch had a production issue so they had to go back and resolve it. It doesn't affect any printers that have shipped though.
quote from support rep:
in case you will have any trouble with your printer, please let us know here anytime. You have 1 year warranty so no need to worry about it. I'm not sure what was the issue in the production, but as far as I know only the new unshipped batch was affected
RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
I'm glad they're recognizing the halt, but I have a couple bridges to sell you if you think it was only a recent unshipped batch.
RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
So Prusa lied?

Prusa support told me that (as quoted) and I'm on hour 75 of printing with my MK4 that's been a fantastic machine so far.
Gonna go with that vs some random guy on the internet with a history of making unsubstantiated claims.
RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
Every "claim" has turned out to be true. Resonance issue, ghosting issue, support articles/returns, shipping halt, etc. I don't care if you believe me, and I'm glad you got a good printer, that's the whole goal of making sure things get attention and resolved for others.
RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
There are a number of issues.

That's one guy who's making all kinds of crazy claims. He says he's built a relationship with Prusa insiders over the past decade and they are all feeding him internal information that he is sharing on reddit. He also says that many employees are unhappy and they are counting on him to get the word out 🤣😂
Interesting. Already saw that kind of talk. This is a well known way to manipulate people: "I know a guy [...] who knows a guy".
The idiot who initiated it's "Apollo conspiracy" theory used the very same words...
RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
I find it a little unlikely for a company like Prusa to turn around and admit to any issues with printers that could possibly result in a recall, or other larger scale issue. They know they have hundreds of users that are completely satisfied - maybe they will target those with issues on a case by case basis as they are raised, and in the meantime they have made a change to their current production run so that all new units do not have the discovered issue - that's my theory anyways.
Im sure there are many kits and assembled units already built and ready to go - whether they are now going through this stock as well is anyone's guess. If the wait times weren't already so long I'd be half tempted to cancel my kit and reorder so I get a later batch!

RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
I don't know what to make of the statements made by Reddit user jilind6806. To me, many things seem to be taken out of the air and do not correspond to the truth. On the other hand, some things sound plausible. A friend of mine, had ordered the MK4 at the same time as me. But he got it much later. He had been told in support that less at the conversion of the supply chains. So seen that makes sense with an alleged shipping stop. So I think that some of the truth is there, but not everything.
RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
Literally everything that could be corroborated has proven true. Nothing has been false. Either way, here's to hoping the issues don't crop up on those that didn't have the issues initially and everybody else gets a great printer going forward.
RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
Except that whole 50% failure rate that you repeated.

Prove it's wrong. That's the general number that our account manager gave us, thus why it required such extreme measure of shutting down shipping.
RE: MK4 Current Owners - Issues? [POLL]
No no, that's not how ANYTHING works. You can't make a claim and then tell other people to put the time and effort into "proving" something isn't. YOU made the claim, YOU need to prove it or back it up. Right now, all you've done is put words on reddit and here on the forum with no proof or support.
I'm not going around and wasting more time on this/you at this point. I have a lot better things to do than try to have a conversation with an attention seeker :). Good day!

RE:
Ok, everything that can be proven has been spot on... and there's like 17 or however many posts worth of stuff. Not a single thing has turned out to be incorrect. And some very specific and big things have PROVEN accurate. I don't post just to get attention - it's a frickin anonymous platform for darn sake.
