I did, however, cancel my MK4 order (for now) because of the issues uncovered in the "bad bearings" thread. It's looking like hardware changes (tweaking parts tolerances, etc.) are required to fix the issue(s) and I'm okay waiting until they've sorted all of that out.

I'll just keep on truckin' with my Mini+ for now.

So now after the new firmware update (4.6.1 ) the pressure it applies for that first home is far less so I can't see the divot showing up again on any new printers one hopes not that I found it to be a mega issue

You don't?  To be fair though, I've bitched A LOT about the MK4 since I got it just a few days after the announcement.  I may have desensitized people :D

I should also add that the MK4 sheets feel thicker than the MK3 sheets, so maybe this was just yet another thing that wasn't accounted for when pushing out the MK4.  And when I say pushing out, I mean it.  It wasn't a release of a new product as much as it was "get this into their hands and we'll iron things out later at their expense".  You know, pressure (e.g. bamboo labs) does that to people.

I'm waiting on delivery of my MK4, but I'm noticing a LOT of chatter about MK4s creating a divot in the front left corner of the build plate due to the auto-leveling process.

I don't see a discrete topic called out for this, so wondering if this is isolated to a handful of early and vocal MK4 users or if it's a more systemic issue in the 4.5.4 firmware.

Tried to find a reported firmware issue on GitHub, but nothing jumped out at me.

I'm really wondering why this process is done inside the print area instead of just outside of it closer to 0,0.  Not only would it avoid blemishes under future prints but it would also then put it right over a bed mount point which seems like a good idea, in general.

Of course, ideally it shouldn't be damaging sheets or pressing down that hard on the bed which is bound to eventually lead to some warping or de-levelling of the bed.
