Is the Mk4 PSU strong enough to support an LED strip?
I just put my Mk4 into the enclosure, and it's working beautifully. It's hard to see what's happening, though, and I guess I will need some light.
My preferred solution would be to stick some LED strips into the enclosure and power them from the PSU of the printer so that they turn on automatically when the printer is on. The fact that the original light strip from Prusa comes with a separate PSU makes me question the approach, though. Is the PSU beefy enough to support something like that? Or should I buy a strip with an external PSU and just hook that up?
RE:
I don't know about the answer to your question, however I also didn't want to spend the money for a PSU just for some LED's. I ordered a 1m LED strip for $5 and multi-outlet with USB ports for $10 (on sale) from Amazon. I already had a spare smart switch to remote power the printer, LED's (and my camera & fan). I used the left-over zip strips from Prusa kit to attach the LED's o the top of the enclosure.
unfortunately, I think you have to click on the image above to get 'full picture' so that you can see the LED strip . . .

Sounds sensible to me. I'll have to experiment if I get enough light from the power some random USB charger can provide - then something like this with a bit of 5V strip would probably the easiest solution.
