I have a dumb question about mk4....
Guys and Gals, i have been a long time user of my mk3s+ and absolutely loved and adored it. Total work horse of a machine for me. Long story short, i am going through a nasty ugly divorce, and my ender 3, ender 7, and mk3s+ have been smashed into 1000 pieces. I may be old school, but i loved the ability of using a sd card on the prusa. I am looking at a mk4 as a replacement and i cant find info if i can print from sd like the mk3s+, or do i have to use wifi, ethernet, etc. I just want to be able to continue to use the sd card. Can yall help me answer this? Thanks in advance guys and gals.
RE: I have a dumb question about mk4....
Just use an USB card-reader for your card.
RE:
The MK4 comes with a USB port this time round, so you can use a standard USB thumb drive. If you prefer to use an SD Card then you could pick up a cheap USB SD Card reader - something like this would do : https://amzn.to/40oDjYC
Hope things go OK with the divorce. 👍

I intend to use a card reader with my toshiba wifi card. Especially considering what is said about the speed of Wi-Fi in the MK4.On the MK3s it works great.
Sorry for my poor English. I try to do my best.

Maybe this would be a solution for you?

There are USB-Storage sticks with Wifi. Maybe a solution for you? SanDisk have them as example.
Posted a link… but it’s waiting for moderation. =)

Assuming the MK4 WiFi doesn't get sorted out, anyone that has looked into adapters have a suggestion for a Clean USBA to Full size SD card adaptor, something that wouldn't easily get broken from extra leverage poking off the side of a machine?
Another important question, Does the MK4 even support the FlashAir card... Is that support even baked into the "xBuddy board"
RE:
Thanks, I was thinking something more like this but with a 90* "flex" link at the USB plug, and possibly allowing the card slot to be hard mounted to the front plate or extrusions.
I know from the card readers I have gotten, some can be Very finicky about how they work, what they will work with, how much current they can pass, and just general incompatibilities.

And, since nobody mentioned it so far, the MK4 comes with an USB stick in the box! 🙂

I use several small compact thumb drives for several applications, for anyone looking for a small low profile replacement/solution that would help prevent too much leverage applied at the USB port mistakenly, those samsung fit plus drives are pretty compact and fully metal unlike some alternatives. And they will go on sale for ~ half the retail price semi frequently.
While I am sure the included drive is fine, anyone looking for a solution to the issue above those are a good alternative at a reasonable price IMO.
If prusa get their wifi game together for. the MK4 and we get normal usable speeds natively, I will be using one of those fit plus drives.

The only dumb questions are the ones not asked. Also, don't get married.
Ta-ta for now! 🙂
