hooking my printer up to wi-fi
I know this has probably been discussed a bunch of times but nothing is showing up when I search.
I've been trying to hook mine up to my wi-fi since I bought the printer.
I've followed the process for hooking it up via prusa slicer and when I go to the step to get the IPv4 address I get n/a.
I have no desire to use prusa connect as I won't be printing things from some far off land.
Is there a work around for this?
RE: hooking my printer up to wi-fi
Have you gone through the steps to generate the wifi security file then edited it to be your access info?
RE: hooking my printer up to wi-fi
It works, so I would suggest you get on the chat with Prusa Support and have them walk you through the process step by step.

RE: hooking my printer up to wi-fi
This is one of my concerns about buying the MK4. With my MK3S, I have to use a SD card inserted into the printer because I didn't install a Raspberry Pi. With the MK4, I want to print directly from my computer.

Exactly what I do everyday

Thanks JP.
RE: hooking my printer up to wi-fi
yes a few times. I enter the info, put the thumb drive in the printer and up date credentials. When this is happening I get the wifi icon in the top left corner of the screen but when it finish the steps it's gone.

RE: hooking my printer up to wi-fi
pretty sure I warned everyone.. 😜
I discovered the issue too I think. I'm printing right now so I can check but..my network connection has 3 words and a series of #'s in it. reading thru the academy course I signed up for it states no spaces in the ssid info,
I've been writing it like it is on my pc.

RE: hooking my printer up to wi-fi
My ssid has spaces and I'm pretty sure I just entered as is.
RE: hooking my printer up to wi-fi
tried it with no spaces and didn't work. off to tech support I go.

RE: hooking my printer up to wi-fi
Well I spent an hour or so with tech support. tried a bunch of things including using my phone as a hot spot and it wouldn't connect to that either.
They are sending me a new wifi module to try.
You can't get better customer service than that.
If you're reading this Robby..thanks again. 🙂
RE: hooking my printer up to wi-fi
module arrived yesterday. switched them out last nite and we have a wifi connection now.
