Filament appears to be skipping on the gear when extrudder is trying to push i dow

I haven't printed for two months and when I tried a new print it started but then I heard this clicking noise. I did a cold pull and had a nice shape on the end so I assume it cleared but now the filament won't go through. It looks as if the filament is skipping on the gear itself. When I open the idler I can see filament on the get itself, just specs of it.

My filament was left out for the past two months and it was hot with high humidity. Could the filament have been compromised? If so, how should I be storing filament after use?

Open the tensioner lever and verify the filament path is clear and no filament is visible in the nozzle guide tube.  Reposition the filament tensioner level.

Heat you nozzle to a high temperature of about 270 and then try to extrude a low temperature filament like PLA.

If this doesn't work try a different nozzle.
