Customs duty to the US?
DHL is charging me USD 81.12 Customs Duty to complete shipment of the MK4 to the US. Is this normal?

Your government is charging you with customs duties, certainly not DHL. Typically in Germany, DHL would clear the incoming shipment and front the payment owed to the customs authorities, then cash it together with a handling fee upon delivery, to save the customer the hassle to travel to the customs office. You may want to inquire with DHL in your state.

Everything over $800 will incur import duties.

oh yes! my enclosure and mk4 were accompanied by a bill from fed ex.
