Anyone using Polymaker filament on Amazon?

Ok, I’m a noob. I’m still building my Mk4. I haven’t finished the build due to a missing item. (Already on it’s way, thanks Prusa)

I jumped the gun and ordered a few rolls of Polymaker filament on Amazon. I was setting up the Slicer software and see that they list an Amazon generic filament but no Polymaker brand. Have any of you used Polymaker filament? Which settings did you use?

Best Answer by cupajoe24:

Polymaker is one of my go-to brands, you can just use the generic PLA settings, or create your own profile based on what Polymaker recommends, but I've found the generic PLA profile to be fine.

I second that.  I just use the generic PLA and the MK4 prints it with no issues.  I try to use the generic PLA profile whenever I can.  The MK4 has had no issues.

RE:

I use polymaker often, I especially like their PETG filaments.

Generic PLA or even the default Prusament PLA settings will do just fine! PLA is one of the easiest types of filaments to work with, its very forgiving even if you don't hit THE best settings possible.

However unless you're in a real hurry, its a good habit to create a profile for every make/type of different filaments.

One extra reason to do this, apart from getting the best results possible, is that you can input the cost of the filament in the profile and when you slice, PrusaSlicer will tell you exactly the cost of printing that part, based on the cost of the roll vs amount of filament that will be spent.
