Anyone Else Blobbed Yet On Their Mk4? Yikes....

So, I've printed a little over 250 hours on the MK4 and I blobbed for the first time today.  Guessing an hour of blob printing on input shaper firmware (to give you an idea of the extent).  My fault - old filament, probably should have cleaned the bed 2 prints ago.

Anyway, let me say....wow.  So, I know the quick change nozzle was supposed to be a game changer but I'd trade for a solid bottomed print head in a second for all the 'convenience' of that disaster.  Needless to say, printing PLA for an hour got up behind the print head bonding to the carriage and melting a decent portion of the back plate.  Snapped the ridge on the fan too.  Damaged the hot-end cable on removal.  There's a LOT of space around that print head to soak up a bad print.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up if it hasn't already been mentioned.  I'm sure others have experienced it.  Don't be lazy like me.  I've blobbed probably 3 times in the thousands of hours on my MK3 but it was nothing in comparison to this.

fast printing, big mess 🙄  just a lot more material per hour. Everything has its downsides 🤣

Well, that's why I posted.  The whole print was 2sq inches.  Hardly a "lot" of filament.  The shape of the print head encourages melted filament up behind the element.  Usually when you blob, you end up with a big goo ball stuck to the nozzle which can be removed by heating the head up again because there's only really one plane for the goo to stick to.  With the MK4, the heating element is small and centralized on, basically, a pillar.  If you blob it builds a pathway to the space up and behind the heating element.

I still take responsibility for not giving my bed a wipe down.  But it's worth nothing that the error is more magnified on this printer than it was on my MK3.
