3s+ to 4 upgrade kits - has anyone’s shipped yet?

1/6 updates performed. It was very smooth. no issues with the initial calibration check. Some of the original parts need 2x for the build. Luckily i printed parts for 6 printers to have extra on hand.

Ok guys, and how long will you wait for the upgrade? In this situation you can wait  months and months  for PAID upgrade. And the result is - uncertain? So by my meaning you have two possibilities :

1) change order to MK4(kit)

2)cancel order and buy anything other

And your old MK3 move to childern or something like this....

As long as it takes to get it right.  I will upgrade at least 2 printers to 3.5.  One I might upgrade to a 4.0 or just change the order to a new Mk4.  To me, it is not about the wait at all.  I would rather have it done right.

So I just got a questionnaire regarding my upgrade compatibility… So I’ve replied with the info they were supposed to have - and that I’ve already given them via the CS chat. I’d check your junk mail if you’ve got an order in and don’t have it. It was flagged as from a mailing list on my email client.

The shipping of the MK4 upgrade kits is underway and I wanted to get in touch with you regarding your order. After the production of the upgrades started, we discovered that some of the old revisions of the MK3 were not fully compatible with the upgrade.

We want to ensure that you will get the correct parts. That's why we'd like to ask you to fill out this short form - it also contains reference photos so you know what to look for. If you have more orders containing upgrades, complete this form for each order separately.

Please, fill out this form as soon as possible. The questionnaire will be closed on 31st August, and after this date, we will process all orders with no responses as standard orders without additional components for compatibility. If you have a black PSU and screwed heatbed connectors, there’s no need to respond and your order will ship normally.

Just a quick explanation: we would like to know whether you have the old silver power supply unit. If you do, we’ll send you a few extra components to ensure compatibility with the kit. You can also consider upgrading to a brand new (black) Delta PSU that we use with all the newer printers. We’ve prepared a special offer for you - you can get the new PSU with 50% off. Check the form linked above and if you opt for the new PSU, we will send you a voucher via email shortly. And last but not least, we would like you to check the heatbed - whether the connectors are screwed on or soldered.

If soldered they write in the store that you need an new heatbed (99eur). Will they add the extra cost for the people who already ordered?

The printers with the heatbeds that has soldered on wires were shipped in the first half of 2018.  That makes them a little over 5 years old.

With that amount of time/ use, it isn't unreasonable for the owner to pay for the new heat bed. 

Also, once you take the printer apart, you may find other parts such as bearings that need replacement which also cuts into the upgrade's saving.

I have the black delta psu and heatbed (psu replaced a year ago, silver psu failed) and heatbed solder connections failed 6 months ago so replaced that as well, direct from Prusa. My mk3 is circa 2018 (prusa direct). I just want my upgrade kit, sometime this year at this point.

Have asked support once a week if theres a problem with my order, and they all say itll ship in a couple days..... (LOL)

I confirmed that I have one bed that was soldered.  I already have a bed to replace it.  I guess that is good news.

Mine shipped yesterday.Ordered it on 3/29/2023. Only took 4.5 months. I'll be going into lockdown when it gets here in a couple of days.

my order is 168010XXXX so its frustrating that they shipped yours before mine, but i think they are randomly choosing ones from the first two days and shipping

My MK3s+ is 2 years old and came with black PSU and heat bed with screw terminals. Maybe Prusa look at what was originally shipped when new to check for compatibility, as mine is I jumped the queue. Just a thought.

I've been in multiple chats with them, they know i have the delta psu and the non-soldered bed as i ordered direct from them. Ill bug them again next week and get the same "few days" answer anyways.

Yes, they - maybe - are not able to prepare/finish/send such great number of ugrade kits. And the result is  that we must wait and wait and wait and no any chat or  mails can change it.
