Spool Holder - Cardboard Spools
I've been printing for quite a while with a Mini, and have a Mk4 kit on order. My Go-To filament is eSun which now comes on cardboard reels, rather than plastic. Will these feed OK from the Mk4 spool holder, or will I need to print some bushes to fit into the reel centres so it will be running plastic on plastic, rather than cardboard on plastic?

I'm using Jesse filament, which comes on cardboard reels, on my Mk4 with no issues. I do notice a little cardboard dust sprinkled on the power supply on occasion. I'm new the 3D printing and have only ever used Jesse filament, maybe I'll try the eSun next. The MK4 kit was a blast to build.

While I'm waiting for my Mk4 kit to arrive, I've decided I do need to make some bushes for my cardboard eSun filament spools so they will run smoothly and with a minimum of drag. Can someone please measure the diameter on the knobs on the ends of Mk4 spool holders for me. We are metric here in the land down under, but I can convert. 😀
