Now a bit apprehensive about my Mk4 kit

I expect to receive my Mk4 kit in the next couple of days,  it's not my first 3d printer, and careful assembly does not phase me as I'm accustomed to working with scientific instruments.    I'm looking forward to the Mk4 being bigger, faster, and to perhaps producing higher quality prints than my well tuned and very reliable  Mini.

However I'm now feeling a bit apprehensive as I read on here of apparently common issues of layer shifting and the print head regularly banging against the limits on the X axis.   I hope I will not regret my purchase.

Don't be fooled by forum bias.  A high proportion of forum posters arrive because they are experiencing issues.  There are hundreds of thousands of printers in the wild - we generally have a dozen or so users with issues here at any one time; a vanishingly small percentage.

If you build with care, attend to maintenance, especially in the first few weeks as the machine runs-in and you grow accustomed to it, you are unlikely to have any issues you can't handle.

The Mini is pretty close to the accuracy limits of FDM printing already but yes, you will see improvements.

Have fun.

Cheerio,

RE:

yup, i have had no issues with my mk4, and the only assembly issues i had came from not following the instructions closely enough.

the mk4 is my first printer, and i am very impressed with it.
