M5x16r screw quality?
I'm reading through the assembly instruction for new comments while waiting for my kit, and I see several people complain about bad threads on the M5x16r screws for assembling the frame. Has the quality improved for kits shipping today? Just wondering if I should order some from blot depot before the kit gets here. 😀
RE: M5x16r screw quality?
I have not seen a lot of complaints. My bolts worked fine.

RE: M5x16r screw quality?
I can’t comment on the ones currently supplied in the kits but I’ve now got into the habit of running a nut down the thread of all screws on general principles as I’ve had a few that were malformed. Same with square nuts too to check the thread on them.
RE: M5x16r screw quality?
I bought my two Prusa, mk3 and mk4 to assemble, never had problems with any screws in the kits, even with screws bought from various suppliers.
For the frame's screws it's necessary to make sure to well positioning them inline to avoid damaging the threads in the frame, believing the screw is the culprit.
I would not take too much account of this kind of details, it can be just a lack of user's skill or be really unlucky.

Mine also fine.
I also run down the thread beforehand, and with the frame construction I used a little dab of threadlock too.

RE: M5x16r screw quality?
Mine were fine - I used some low strength threadlock to make sure they stay put.
The only problem was pebkas, I managed to fit both 3mm magnets for the filament sensor into the holder and then wondered why I could not complete the self diagnostics 🙂
